Easter Week

Here are some pictures from the past two weeks....we have slowed down a little!

Enjoying a chocolate milkshake with Grammie!
Easter goodies from Mama Jane and Papa Gene!
Easter Bunnies Turkeys!   My daddy set up these turkey decoys in their backyard after a flock of turkeys started visiting....
Scootering down the dirt road....check out Seth's new orange crocs from Mama Jane and Papa Gene!
Seth helping Papa Gene transfer some minnows!
Relaxing with Papa Gene in the swing!
Seth's loot from the rabbit--bubbles, ball & glove, Toy Story Buddy Pack, Toy Story egg, and 2 orange t-shirts!
Biking with Papa Gene and the cousins!
A great Easter week!  Now it's back to school with 45 working days left until summer vacation!

Happy Birthday to the Twins!

On March 13, we traveled to Deadwood in Bear Grass, NC to celebrate  our nieces' 9th birthdays.

The twins wanted Super Mario Brothers as their party theme.  Who would have thought that a video game character from over 15 years ago would be a party theme option today?
Mama Jane got the twins coordinating shirts for the occasion.
The guests of honor, Carson and Caitlyn--I can't believe they are already 9 years old!

What a pretty cake...the lady who fixed the cake has done so for the twins for the past 9 years--she says that the cake is her gift to them!
Seth got to play a classic video game--Ms. Pac-Man!
Present Time!
Carson on the train....I have not been to Deadwood since they have added the train and the roller coaster....it's a regular amusement park complete with miniature golf and of course the restaurant.
Seth and me on the train

Rob and Seth on the roller coaster--this was a pretty good ride for Martin County, I have to say.  It was really jerky and it was not the calmest roller coaster I have ridden.  Seth LOVED it...he had already ridden with me before he rode with Rob, and he would have gone again if he had not used most of his tickets!
Caitlyn playing putt-putt--the golf course has been at Deadwood since it opened...and it is quite a challenging little course.  Deadwood is a great place to have a birthday party--good food, fun, and fellowship!

Marvin & April's Wedding

There has been this little thing called life that has kept me from writing on my blog lately...but I hope to catch up seeing that it is now spring break, so bear with me!

On March 6, a childhood friend of Rob's got married in Aiken, SC.  We journeyed down to be a part of this great event!

 The beautiful cake!
  Part of the candy buffet!
The happy couple dances with Bridget!

We had a wonderful time at the Barnetts' wedding and reception.  The reception was like none we had ever been part of--it was set up like a carnival/county fair.  They had a cotton candy machine, popcorn, and they served hot dogs and hamburgers!  We had a lot of fun and we wish Marvin and April best wishes as they begin their new life together.  Thank you for letting us be a part of your celebration!
