We are continuing to pray for sweet Jonah's healing and for Matt and Patrice's strength. Possibilities are being tossed around about Jonah going home soon due to risk of infection in the hospital. We will be praying for this transition and for everything to go smoothly, but in the mean time, we pray that tomorrow will bring good things--no infection, a painless dressing change, some sweet coos. We pray that Jonah continues to fight hard.
Another young mother, MckMama, is in the hospital tonight with her son Stellan. I began reading MckMama's blog this summer--I think Patrice had actually begun praying for her while she (MckMama) was pregnant. After I began reading her blog, I began to pray for her--not only because she had 3 children already under the age of 4, but she was pregnant with number 4 and this baby had a life-threatening heart condition. At 20 weeks, MckMama and her husband were told their baby would surely die. But, Stellan was born healthy, or so everyone thought. Tonight he is in a hospital with the same condition he suffered in the womb. He is a fighter as is his mama. Please add them to your prayer list, and click on the Pray for Stellan button up above to find out the latest update.

Mary Kay Andrews
This past Wednesday, I attended the Pitt County Literacy Volunteers Enriching Minds Seminar. The keynote speaker was one of my favorite authors, Mary Kay Andrews. Some of her best selling books include Savannah Blues, Savannah Breeze, Itty Bitty Lies, Blue Christmas, and Deep Dish. My favorite title by her is Hissy Fit. She is a wonderful writer of southern fiction. I strongly recommend any of these books for a fun read. I did get my copy of Hissy Fit signed, and Ms. Andrews is a very down-to-earth person. I wish she could have spoken longer because she had the audience in stitches.

Continuing to Lift Up Baby Jonah, Matt, & Patrice
Please continue to pray for this precious family. They have been doing a great job of updating their blog here. A Facebook group has also been started for them: Prayer Group for Jonah Alexander Williams.
Patrice has listed some specific prayer requests for the upcoming days on their blog. They are as follows:
- that Jonah will have the Simplex version of EB
- that his mouth and throat look healthy and whole
- that he is not in very much pain now that he is on lower doses of pain medicine
- that his little body resists infection (STILL the biggest concern and greatest danger)
Several readers have left links for Matt and Patrice to look at regarding their own personal experiences with EB, and how they have learned to live with this disorder. We need to continue to give them hope like this. It was awesome to see how one woman had been diagnosed with the most severest form of it and she had reached the age of 30, gotten a degree, gotten married, and had 3 children!
Matt and Patrice, if you read this, know that you all are on our hearts and our minds and will continue to be. We are there in spirit, even if we cannot be there in person. Please do not let hesitate to let us know what we can do. We love you!
